Romsey holds a special place in our hearts. It is where Joel’s parents have lived since 2016 and where we have spent a lot of our time.
Joel’s mum, Annette, is the pastor at the Romsey Uniting Church and in this capacity will be officiating our ceremony.
Getting there
Romsey is a 40 minute drive north of Melbourne Airport, and about an hour from the Melbourne CBD.
Parking spaces are available along Main Street and on-street parking is available in the surrounding streets.
Note: please do not drive into the church grounds.
The reception will be a short 200 metre walk from the ceremony venue.

We are anticipating that the ceremony will take between 45-60 minutes.
We kindly request an “unplugged” ceremony. Please turn off all devices and enjoy being fully present in the moment with us. We will share our professional photos after we have received them.
Toilets are located behind the church and will be open before, during and after the ceremony.

Dress code: Cocktail attire for an afternoon garden party. Colour encouraged!
Note the garden at The 1860 Romsey is gravelled.
Romsey can be cooler than Melbourne, so please check the local weather forecast and dress accordingly.

Absolutely! We would love for your family to be together with us to celebrate.
If there is anything we can do to accommodate the needs of your children/babies, please let us know in advance and we will try our best to assist.
-
Your love is the only gift we need!
However, if giving something tangible is an important wedding tradition for you, we'd love to have reminders of you for our home (for example, your favourite album on vinyl, a bottle of wine for a future anniversary, books or works of art that have inspired you, or something you created).
Alternatively, a small contribution towards our honeymoon would be most appreciated and enjoyed.
-
The entrance to the church is a ramp.
Please let us know ahead if you require additional space or alternative seating arrangement during the ceremony.
The walk between the ceremony venue and the reception venue is approx. 200 metres along flat ground.

There are plenty of things to see and do in the Macedon Ranges. The area is renowned for its gardens, gourmet produce and wineries.
Hanging Rock is a 10 minute drive from Romsey, and the beautiful towns of Woodend, Riddells Creek and Mount Macedon are all within a 20 minute drive.
If wineries are your thing, there are plenty of cellar doors and restaurants to explore.
Autumn is a very popular time to explore the region, especially Mount Macedon. While April is the official Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival, the leaves should be turning and showing some great colour by the end of March.
Check out the Macedon Ranges website for more info on what to do and see in the region: https://www.visitmacedonranges.com
For the kids (and kids at heart)
The Romsey Ecotherapy Park has an excellent playground and sensory garden including an interactive water garden. It is a beautiful space and well worth a wander through if you have time.
